~Confluence~
by Susan Morgan
|
Heroine:
petite/slight |
Shari Deluca is at a crossroads in her life. She knows that she
is dissatisfied with her marriage, but not enough to abandon it.
Or is she?
What will happen to the strength of her commitment to her husband in
the face of her desires for another man--a man who connects with her
innermost being like no one else has ever done?
|
What worked for me: |
There was a lot of potential to this
story; the plot had a few unexpected twists that grabbed my attention.
There were some worthy themes touched upon during the course of
the book: conservation, body image issues, gender issues, and marital fidelity among them.
Size-wise Shari was very slight and very short, but her years spent
training in ballet left her with a body image disorder that made her
feel fat and unattractive.
|
What didn't work for me: |
The novel had many passages that didn't feel as polished as
possible.
|
Overall: |
"Confluence" might resonate most with readers who love the outdoors.
Warning: There's a steamy scene at the end of the book.
If you liked "Confluence" you
might also enjoy "Dangerous Curves".
